About This Beer

What do you get when you combine a Danish Brewing Wizard with an MIT-educated Mad Beer Scientist?

This Hazelnut Brittle Bar Imperial Pastry Stout, that’s what!

That’s right, it’s a collab between Evil Twin (founded by Dane Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø) and Equilibrium (co-founded by the MIT-trained Pete Oates)! Together, these Sultans of Stout whipped up a craft confection worthy of dessert.

The brewers added plenty of real toasted hazelnut, gooey caramel, rich cocoa, silky bourbon-infused vanilla, and a pinch of salt.

Tasting Notes

It really does taste like something you’d find in a tin. Bold nutty flavors balance beautifully against nuances of toffee and caramel, while a touch of salinity seems to enhance the hazelnut. Just like in a bit of real brittle!

Good stout, could taste the bourbon an vanilla pretty heavily. Tasted a little “flat” but a smooth sipper

I'm partial to Evil Twins concoctions. Even more Jesus, Imperial Biscotti, if you haven't had these, definitely put on the must try list. I had high expectations for this one and it didn't disappoint. Definitely a dessert libation. Smooth, rich, nutty, sweet. It's what a brittle bar in a can should be. Be forewarned it is sweet for a beer but that's why the named it brittle bar.

Chocolately start, subtle but present hazelnut finish. Very delicious!

Deep roasted nut flavors and caramelized brown sugar are immediate, followed by bittersweet chocolate; the heat/sweetness of the vanilla; and a noticeable touch of salt which both elevates all of the flavors, but also keeps it from being cloying.
