A Note on This Beer
It’s no secret, I am obsessed with Nutella. And by “obsessed,” I mean I will sit at home in my pajamas and eat that stuff straight outta the jar with a spoon.
So when I found out the Dark Beer masters at Hubbard’s Cave crafted today’s Hazelnut Pot de Creme Imperial Stout, I nearly cried from sheer joy. These guys are the Stout-slingin’ alter-ego of Chicago’s celebrated Une Annee, and with a higher UT-brewery rating than Westbrook and Three Floyds, they’re certified sweet-tooth bosses.
Which is why I trust this brew crew to take all that seductively smooth, chocolate-nutty deliciousness from Nutella and capture it in today’s 12% ABV pour.
And they nailed it!
With barely 100 cases in existence, this brand-spankin' new release is already scoring high, pulling in a staggering 4.52 UT-rating from early check-ins!
Now’s your chance to be one of the only people outside the Midwest to experience this chocolate-soaked can of indulgence. Just make sure you buy a few extras, because once you get a taste of this limited-release pour, one can won’t be enough to satisfy your cravings.
Tantalizing aromas of smooth dark chocolate come from the combination of nearly 3lbs per barrel of rich Belgian and American cocoa. Then, Hubbard’s Cave adds fresh-chopped hazelnuts to achieve an authentic nutty-profile. All while subtle hints of sweet vanilla mingle throughout the thick mouthfeel, creating a mega-smooth, boozy treat.
Gosh darn it, I’m drooling on my keyboard again!
