A Note on This Beer
For a brief but unfortunate time in American history, “fruit beer” was synonymous with “bad beer.”
In those dark ages, “fruit beers” were cloyingly sweet and used a lot of colorful chemical syrups in lieu of real fruit. You know, “beer” for people who didn’t really like beer.
Then, breweries like Urban Family came along. They went back to ancient brewing methods that use real fruit and Wild yeast strains — and they quickly racked up Washington Beer Awards by making REAL FRUIT BEERS their business.
HopCulture even declared Urban Family “game-changing,” and one of the best breweries in craft-loaded Seattle!
It’s because of fruited brews like Heart of Stone Sour Ale. They conditioned this tangy overload of refreshing fruit on real plums and apricots and it quickly became a local favorite.
We thought it couldn’t get better than that. Until now.
In a surprising twist, Urban Family took their prized brew and upped the ante — they swapped out the plums for a massive addition of real peaches!
The result is a nectarous lip-smacker of juicy stone fruit. Each 7.0% ABV sip of this mouthwatering brew splashes the palate with bright apricot and peach, and finishes with a dry smack of tart lemon that keeps you diving back in for more!
But wait, you gotta grab your stash first. Urban Family’s fruited-up Sours don’t leave Washington, and most of the time they don’t even stray beyond Seattle’s limits. Whenever we do let ‘em loose on Tavour, they don’t stick around long!
Better grab an extra bottle of Heart of Stone while you’re at it. Even though we’ve been out of the beer dark ages for a while, you probably still have a friend (or two) who thinks fruit and beer just don’t mix. Give them a taste of this tart sipper, and watch them have a change of heart!
