About This Beer
First, founder and head brewer Kyle Harrop let this brew slumber for 18 months in Old Elk bourbon barrels. Then he transferred it to Old Elk bourbon barrels for 14 months before moving it yet again for an 8 month nap in Russel’s Reserve. Finally, he switched the beer to Bernheim Barrel Proof bourbon barrels for another 6 month nap.
And on top of all that, he conditioned the beer on vanilla beans from Uganda and The Democratic Republic of Congo.
Tasting Notes
Expect this thick bodied brew to bring waves of whiskey-soaked flavor, with curls of caramel and toffee riding through ripples of oak. A smooth current of vanilla flows throughout the sip totally burying all traces of the massive ABV.
