About This Beer
For Hidalgo, OEC kept things quintessentially English with a simple infusion mash of Marris Otter and Crystal malts. Then they boil hopped with Challenger and East Kent Goldings for a jolly good, authentic UK hop flavor. Finally, in a proper OEC twist, the brewers cellared it for several weeks after open fermentation for unique depth and complexity.
Tasting Notes
Soft, bready nuances lead each sip with measured hop bitterness beneath. A touch of dark fruit follows after, like plum jelly on a cracker with a kiss of caramel before a crisp finish.

Malty, bready, bitter, and smooth. Lots of caramel and roasted malt without being too dark or sweet. Not bad at all.

Moms away boys at play edition. This is bready with a plum sweetness. Caramel smooth and super clean. Pretty terrific.

Nice malty aroma and flavor with good balance. Not sweet. Good thing I had 2 cans … the first one about exploded from over-carbonation.
