A Note on This Beer
Kumquat. Calamansi. Yuzu.
We’re willing to bet cold, hard cash you’ve never tried a Pastry Hard Seltzer with these exotic fruits before. Until today's Hiking with Pulpit Rock from Humble Forager (and Iowa’s Pulpit Rock) we certainly hadn’t!
After one zingy swig of this citrusy creation, we gleefully declared that it exceeded our already sky-high expectations for these brewers' fruity creations.
On the forefront, splashes of mandarine orange-like yuzu wash over the taste buds. As it settles on the tongue, flashes of calamansi (a Phillipino hybrid of a lemon and a lime) bring about a complex tartness, intensified by the kumquats’ delectable tang.
If that’s sounding a little too lip-puckering for you, never fear! Humble Forger and Pulpit Rock fused marshmallows and whole Madagascar vanilla beans into this zesty quencher to effortlessly round out its tart notes, and to provide an ultra plush mouthfeel.
Like Sour Patch Kids candy, this sipper is sour, then it’s sweet, and then… it’s gone. As the brewers put it, this Pastry Hard Seltzer is “a perfect companion during your next hike, yard game, or bike ride!”
Only question is, where will you bring your stash of Kumquat, Calamansi, and Yuzu Seltzer?
