A Note on This Beer
In beer-soaked Oregon, there are some names that just stick out. Deschutes Brewery is one of these.
With stacks of World Beer Cup, GABF, and Best of Craft Beer medals across more than 3 decades, craft sippers all across the country know their name.
And right now, you have a fleeting chance to taste their mastery with today’s Home At Port Belgian-style Dark Strong Ale!
This small batch release is not like the Deschutes brews you’ll find at your local grocery store. It won Gold Medals at the Oregon Beer Awards AND the World Beer Awards in 2020, plus the brewers aged the boozy baron for 13 months in both bourbon and first-fill tawny port barrels!
The Belgian Dark Ale base lends rich notes of cherries, candied plums, and warm clove spice to every sip. A steady stream of sticky caramel flavor from the bourbon mixes beautifully with the berry-like jamminess of the tawny port. With each mouthful, the oaky complexity seems to deepen as the award-winning flavors mingle on the palate.
Much to our chagrin, brews like Home At Port don’t come around often. But then again, a brewery like Deschutes is pretty much one-in-a-million itself. You know the name, and by now you ought to know what you should do — smash that “Get It” button and experience this Gold Medal magic!
Tavour strictly supports independent beer. Deschutes Brewery is certified independent by the Brewers Association
