A Note on This Beer
Urban Family Brewing is the undisputed king of the Seattle Sour scene. When friends visit town with a taste for tart and tangy brews, it’s the first place I take ‘em.
Even Seattle Magazine named this crew the Best Sour Brewery in the craft-soaked city!
But, they also know their way around a hop cone. This is the Pacific Northwest, after all! Most of the hops grown in the U.S. come from the Yakima Valley, just a few hours from UF’s brand new (and thankfully much larger) taproom.
So, of course they had to combine their sour skills with some dank and fruity local greenery for Hoppy Sour Ale!
To create this marriage of hazy hop juice and tart tastiness, the brewers took their base Golden Sour Ale and dry-hopped it with a mountain of Galaxy, Citra, and Ekuanot Hops. Take a sip, and prepare for a deluge of tropical pineapple and bright citrus hop flavors that’ll make you pucker up like you’re looking to get smooched.
Hey, I get it. Urban Family beers have that effect on people! But, if you want to find out what happens when Seattle’s premiere Sour brewery embraces northwest hops, you’d better act fast — we have the only stash of Hoppy Sour leaving the Northwest!
