About This Beer

It all started with a cookie. A Biscotti, to be exact.

Inspired by that coffee-dunked treat, Evil Twin NYC’s beeristas crafted a timeless masterpiece — their Biscotti Break Imperial Pastry Stout. That was way back in 2012. That very brew is arguably one of the most notorious ET brews. Of. All. Time.

This is the NYC twist on their fan-favorite classic — brewed with almonds, vanilla, coffee… and actual Biscottis.

Tasting Notes

This 11.5% ABV treat pours midnight black with a creamy latte foam head. Freshly roasted espresso and vanilla-almond notes waft from the rim, transporting you straight to an Italian café. Nuances of bittersweet dark chocolate and hints of cinnamon and amaretto flourish in its thick, velvety body, adding a spicy depth to its undeniably boozy foundation.

Most memorable thing about this stout is the great mouthfeel: smooth and creamy. Very chocolate forward with amaretto and vanilla really coming through strong too. Agreed biscotti could be stronger but that's a hard flavor to nail.

Disappointing, considering that I love Biscotti Break. This was overly boozy to taste, the amaretto was so strong that nothing else could be tasted.

Solid, enjoyable, but tastes like it is missing something. One more note of something to make it a little more complex.

Disappointing. Normal pour yielded a glass full of foam with one finger of beer. Flavorwise, lingering off-putting bitterness was hard to get past. Could not finish it.

This was a decent stout but I really didn’t notice the taste of biscotti. I was a little let down on this one

I get you babe. Not many people do. Evil Twin Brewing. People need to play with the temp on this one. Let it mellow and relax before you pound it. Amazing.

Heavy notes of vanilla, chocolate, and amaretto in the aroma, with a flavor predominantly of coffee, chocolate, and a little biscuit. The head, however, was absolutely gorgeous: it never dissipated, and resembled that of a freshly poured espresso.
