A Note on This Beer
Aroma: A bouquet of floral notes rises from the glass, complemented by earthy pine.
Taste: Lemon-zested, drippy stone fruit take the forefront, followed by a procession of pineapple and mild hop bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, with a medium body and an effervescent touch.
Flavorful Hops: grapefruity Chinook, zesty Citra, lemony Centennial, and peachy Idaho 7!
Say you and your buddy are out for drinks. But wait! Your buddy forgot his wallet at home, and now you’ve gotta cover his tab.
It’s okay though! As craft fans, you know that somewhere down the line, he’ll make it up to you — he’ll get you back with more beer.
It’s known as “Beering it Forward.” And it’s how today’s beer came to be.
When the Best Brew of New York State competition-winning brewers at Barrier were just starting out, they operated from a tiny garage-sized space — and they only accepted cash! One day, the crew from Florida’s Civil Society walked through the doors...
The two teams hit it off while Civil Society enjoyed some Barrier brews. Then came time to pay, and OF COURSE, no one had any cash to cover the tab; only cards.
So, Barrier let it slide! That is, until they met again years later and teamed up to craft a stellar 4.13 UT-rated juicebomb: today’s In the Red NE-style IPA.
Nowadays, Civil Society is sitting pretty as one of Thrillist’s Best New Breweries in America. They even boast a higher Untappd rating than Florida greats like Cigar City, M.I.A., and Funky Buddha!
But Barrier couldn’t just let Civil Society forget they were “in the red” for so many years.
And now, we’re beering it forward to you — snag some of today’s super limited collab from these two East Coast IPA powerhouses, and you can rake in the riches of In the Red’s full fruity-dank flavor. And if your friends want a sip, go ahead and let ‘em have it!
Just make sure to write it down on the books so they can pay you back.
Rated 4.13 on Untappd by early tasters!
