A Note on This Beer
Most of us know the hesitation that comes before tasting something we expect to dislike, and then being blown away when we end up loving it.
While many of us crave the refreshingly tart, mojito-like flavors of cucumber, lime and mint, it’s not for everybody… or is it?!
The Barrel-Aged Sour specialists at Illinois White Rooster have drawn a cult-following. They created Infusion Green Label Sour Ale with cucumber, lime, and mint — and it’s been changing Sour fans’ lives.
While many reluctant cucumber and mint-o-phobes have been pleasantly surprised by today’s beer, we weren’t. We’ve tried enough White Rooster Sours to know the literal magic they create with unique ingredients aged in oak barrels. They made a tumeric-spiced brew taste like a ginger-peach cobbler for crying out loud — they’re brewing magicians. But here’s a few fans that needed some convincing:
@Jackie S. - “I’ll be honest I’m not a fan of mint or cucumber at all. However for whatever reason this combo works for me in this.” She rated Infusion Green Label a 4.50. Maybe she wasn’t a fan before, but she is now.
@Derek M. - “Amazing. If l loved mint more it’d be higher.” He still scored it a 4.25 - such a stellar score for a mint-forward brew from an anti-mint dude. When a beer can get you past an ingredient you’re not fond of, that’s saying something!
@Victoria K. - Sounded like she didn’t expect to like this beer at all, but her comment was geared toward the friend that recommend it to her “Pretty awesome. Thank you Brian!”
If an 18 month Barrel-Aged Sour that tastes like a mojito, doubled-down on the lime scares you, pick yourself up by your bootstraps and give Infusion Green Label a taste. You could be the next Sour sipper to have your taste buds transformed by the skills and precision of The White Rooster.
