A message to fans from Adroit Theory head brewer Mark Osborne:

Sure, we make a lot of Stouts and a lot of IPAs, gotta give our fans what they want right? But when we’re thirsty, us brewers at Adroit Theory want to sip lesser-known styles, ones that combine dark roasts and hoppy notes.

Like today’s Invisible Art, a black sesame seed-infused Black IPA. You won’t find black sesame seeds in most beers: they add an umami flavor that most palates don’t recognize. Hell, most people don’t even know that beer can be savory like this!

To brew this art, we infused real sesame seeds to deepen the malty base with charred nut flavor. We add a rare Asian Hop, Sorachi Ace, for lemony highlights that complement citrusy Mosaic. And, in my Adroit way, I’ve boosted it with a smooth-drinking 10.1% ABV.

To me, it's the best of both worlds. You get the hop aromas and bitterness you expect from an IPA, but a more roasty and intense flavor like you would with a Stout. It’s full bodied and very drinkable.

Beers like this are very specific, and the people that "get it" LOVE THEM. Those that do not? We didn't make it for them…
