A Note on This Beer
f you’re an IPA drinker, Breakside Brewery is a name you need to know. Why? Because Breakside IPA, their flagship brew, has won enough awards to make your head spin: Best of Craft Beer Awards, Oregon Beer Awards, North American Beer Awards, AND multiple medals at GABF… making it the quintessential Northwest IPA.
With so many accolades and massive local fanfare, it’s hard to find Breakside IPA’s nectarous pine and juicy tropical citrus outside of their taproom. But don’t worry – we drove across state lines and snagged enough of their freshest batch to share.
The impeccable architecture of Breakside IPA comes from brewmaster Ben Edmonds – he harnesses Citra and Chinook Hops as keystones, bringing lemon zest aromas and herbal pine dominance. Falconer’s Flight Hops complement the citrus with a dense tropical nose full of guavas and mangoes. Columbus Hops deliver clean, sharp resin lingering through the finish with 74 IBUs of evergreen bitterness.
Breakside IPA made the World’s Best Beer list on MSN and the 50 Best IPAs in America on Draft Magazine, leaving local and national fans bowing down to its hoppy nectar power. You can only call yourself a true hophead after you’ve tasted your first sip of Breakside IPA.
