I saw a pecan pie on sale at the store the other day. I greedily snatched it up, only to find that its pecan quantity was seriously lacking and it had one of those grocery store-crusts that crumbles apart as soon as you blink at it. 

It also didn’t come with an 7% ABV like today’s mouth-watering pecan pie that I snagged from Woodland Empire Ale Craft! 

Isn’t Life Just Sweet? tastes as decadently nutty and brown sugary as my favorite pie. And, it comes in gloriously sippable Pastry Stout form! 

To craft this velvety masterpiece, the Woodland Empire crew used copious amounts of dark, toasty malts plus real molasses, vanilla, and cinnamon to mimic the opulent roasty-sweetness of baked pastries. They also used 2 lbs of real raw pecans per barrel, half in the mash boil and half toasted in the fermenter. This allowed the already scrumptious Stout to become positively soaked in pecan goodness!

I’ve already stocked what I could in my fridge to get me through the rest of the holiday season. I suggest all you pecan pie aficionados do the same. This limited nutty treat isn’t leaving Idaho except for right here!
