A Note on This Beer

Keepin’ it Lindy #2 takes its name from Lindernhurst, NY, home of W A Meadworks. But, when I taste it, all I can think about is the Lindy Hop — the popular dance from the 1920s.

Why? This delectable blueberry and ginger-infused Mead tastes like something a mustachioed bartender might’ve whipped up at a fancy speakeasy.

To make this high-class cocktail in a can, the Mead masters at W A joined forces with the gurus of booze at Restoration Kitchen and Cocktails — they stir up some of the finest mixed drinks in the Empire State! And, like a well-practiced couple sashaying across a dimly lit dance floor, the two teams created something beautiful, romantic, and bold.

This honey-kissed brew pours pinkish-purple, with pungent aromas of freshly sliced ginger root. Take a sip, and bright berry flavors jitterbug across the tastebuds, balancing beautifully against the tangy lemon zest and earthy ginger.

You could show up uninvited to a party at Gatsby’s house, and as long as you had a jug of this nectar, they’d let you right in.

But, since Gatsby is both fictitious and would be like 140 years old, that’s probably not going to happen. Better to throw on a little Jazz, pour yourself a purple glass of Keepin’ it Lindy, and create your own little speakeasy at home. If you’re friends want in, the password is Tavour.

W A Meadworks is one of the Top 15 Meaderies on Earth on Untappd!

Very little carbonation. Almost drinking like a blueberry mule. Taste pretty good but off guard by the lack of carbonation.

This is my first mead, definitely a different experience than beer. Nice blueberry and ginger taste, reminds me of kombucha.

A bit sweet from the honey and blueberry but it is tempered well by the ginger. Pretty good for what it is.

Can’t really add accurate tasting notes since Tavour sent me Cherry Springer instead :(

Caveat: not a mead drinker. I'm used to more carbonation, and because I didn't personally care for the light carbonation is the primary reason I didn't give this one more love. That's my opinion though. So if you love meads with a savvy blueberry flavor, this is what's up. My only other note, is that I have big taste buds (i.e.: I like strong flavors) so i would've like for the ginger to be more pronounced.

Honey, ginger, sweet berry, tinniest bit of carbonation. Very pleasant and enjoyable mead, not overly sweet and the spice bite of the ginger gives it a wonderful added dimension.

Tasted a bit too much like wine for my pallet. Was sweet and light, like a sparkling grape juice.

Whooo is that sweet. Sweet’s not usually my thing, I prefer my meads on the middle to dry part of the spectrum, but the flavor is great and this was a fun drink. Can’t see having more than one at a time though.

Tasted closer to a wine than a beer. Very tasty. Could probably drink 2-3 before wanting something else.

12oz can from Tavour. Ruby colored body, flat. Aroma is honey with some berry notes. Taste turns over to the blueberries, sweet, more honey and a kiss of ginger, which comes up at the finish.

Wife loved this beer. She likes ginger. I was not the biggest fan but it was bought for her and she really liked it. Smooth and the taste of ginger was definitely there.

Absolutely love this! I feared the ginger would be overpowering, but it's just perfect. The blueberry and ginger work really well together. Maybe 5% too sweet for my taste? Overall it's grand.

The blueberry is bright, and the ginger isn’t overpowering. This is blended just right – very refreshing.

Not really my thing. With that said, the flavor is not bad at all. Each flavor is very minor and is not overpowering. Reminds me of a Bartles and James wine cooler

***I did not get “keepin it lindy” I was instead sent “cherry springer” by the same brewery by mistake. This review is for “cherry springer”*** This mead reminds me of cough medicine. I don’t care for the cherry vanilla combo. Rated this 4 as to not lower the review. Cherry springer gets 2/5 stars
