A Note on This Beer
My friend Jessica goes wild for key lime pie. So, for her birthday, I decided to surprise her with a new recipe that I’d found in Cook’s Illustrated. It calls for the zest of about a dozen key limes, and it’s topped with a lime-flavored blend of whipped cream and Greek yogurt.
I have to admit, as I was pulling up to her outdoor party, I felt pretty darn fancy.
The only problem was, I’d arrived at the party two hours late. Key lime pie takes at least three hours to cool in the fridge, which meant waiting in the kitchen and scrolling on YouTube while all my buddies were tossing frisbees in the park.
I could’ve saved myself SO MUCH TIME if I’d just brought her some Key Lime Pie from Prairie Artisan Ales, instead! This delicious Sour Ale is filled with the juice of real key limes, and conditioned on vanilla, for a tart and creamy blend that would make even Martha Stewart jealous.
Each sip is so delightfully inviting, you may want to follow it up with a spoonful of fresh whipped cream!
After tasting this Key Lime Pie, I’m dedicating an entire shelf on my beer fridge to this sensational Sour! I’ll save some for Jessica — but I can’t guarantee that other thirsty Tavoursters will save some for you.
