A Note on This Beer

Do Hoppy Battle: This brew charges in with a pile of Citra and Sultana Hops! Delicious Victory: tangy tangerine, drippy peach, and tropical pineapple flavors dominate in front, then pithy grapefruit and a hint of resinous pine balance the finish.

In video games, “KDA” stands for kills/deaths/assists. They’re the stats that determine who wins, and who gets called a ‘total chump loser’ by their nephew.

Not that I’m bitter about it or anything. Besides, I know the best way to soothe my bruised ego after getting my butt kicked by a 10-year-old is with a pint of KDA Imperial IPA.

One sip totally makes up for my devastating digital defeat. And the super-soft mouthfeel helps me forget all about how my nephew blasted me with a fireball and then giggled uncontrollably.

I swear, when everything opens back up, I’m going to take him straight to Proclamation Ale Company’s kid-friendly Rhode Island taproom, and challenge him to one of the vintage arcade games that line the walls. Those are games I can win! And even if I can’t, enjoying a beer or two from Thrillist’s Best Brewery in Rhode Island is a victory in itself.

If you’re a hardcore gamer, you already know how cool it would be to  toast your next big win with a brew called KDA. Or, you can spare yourself the hurt feelings and enjoy a couple cans with an adult who won’t mock you. Maybe over a game of checkers.

Unimpressed. Higher alcohol that is too detectable. Lack of hop presence.

Smoothest Imperial IPA I've had but not as much backbone as I would have liked.

It’s not bad, but nothing really stands out. Fairly standard hazy.

Fine but nothing special. There’s an upfront sweetness and a little pepper bite, but the hop bill doesn’t link the two together, leaving the flavors disjointed and not well balanced. If I had this while out I’d probably try something else for the next round instead of ordering a second.

Daily corona battle. Grocery run edition. This is peachy sweet, touch of dank. Pretty standard hazy, but not my favorite combo.
