A Note on This Beer
When Krieky Bones (Batch 5) first dropped back in 2018, it earned a Silver medal at the World Beer Cup.
That was before the brewery stashed it away in their carefully-controlled cellar for over two years! Now, it offers even more delicious complexity, with bolder notes of funk from the wild yeast.
If you’re a Wild Ale fan — or you’re looking for something to knock the socks right off a fan you know — look no further.
The wild yeast culture created a puckeringly tart base, which spent over a year in French Oak before the brewers fermented the beer a second time on a heap of Montmorency cherries.
Bright, fruity notes sing from the glowing red pour, along with hints of lemongrass, oak, and crusty bread. On the sip, tangy citrus precedes bubbly cherry notes, echoing through layers of graham cracker and hints of baking spice.
It’s like a tart cherry pie, magically transformed into a beer!
But, if you want a slice of this beer pie, you’ll have to act fast. Vintage bottles like this rarely leave Firestone Walker’s cellar, and they almost never show up outside of California.
