A Note on This Beer
Jolly Pumpkin opened the floodgates of beer heaven and introduced 80 gallons of guava and boysenberries to their La Roja Sour Ale — resulting in over 2.5 gallons of fruit per barrel!
Then, the brewery aged the blend in an oak foeder for almost an entire year to develop tart, funky complexity while maintaining the juiciness of the fruit.
If you’ve had a boysenberry, you know it’s hard to top the tanginess of this blackberry-blueberry-raspberry hybrid. However, today’s brew may just blow your mind when you taste the zany zip created from pairing boysenberries with lush guava — it’s enough to make a Jamba Juice artist blush!
It’s not every day that you come across a Sour with a new fruit combination. Then again, it’s not every day you get your nubs on a new release from the award-winning Sour veterans at Jolly Pumpkin.
