A Note on This Beer
Today’s Lager King has everything I look for in a crisp, sunny day, springtime sipper. And, I mean everything:
- The award-winning brewers at Listermann named it in honor of the hit documentary Tiger King, so it’s perfect if you wear a lot of sequins or own 176 tigers.
- Its crisp notes of lemongrass and crusty bread will keep you cool and refreshed while you wander the grounds of your ‘zoo,’ staring down big cats.
- The 5% ABV is crazy-crushable, so you can sip this sucker all day, no matter what you’re doing: trimming your mullet, televising your own unhinged diatribes, running for office, etc.
- The can art features portraits of the brewers, fireworks, a giant American Flag, and yes, even a tiger!
Unless you happen to be Joe Exotic, the self-described Tiger King, it’s possible that many of these points don’t apply to you. But, who cares? The days are getting warmer, and we all need a crisp, clean, refreshing brew to sip while we watch bizarre documentaries.
But, don’t just get any old Lager, get yourself the Lager King!
And, if you ARE Joe Exotic, I’m sorry but I don’t think I’m allowed to ship beers to you in jail.
*Listermann is a multiple GABF and World Beer Cup Award-winning brewery.

Nothing special. Not offensive, but the flavor doesn’t really come through.

Not the best lager I've had, but it is good. Light bready notes with a bit of a bitter hoppy bite.

Carole Baskin killed her husband. She probably have him this beer. Funny name. Funny label art. Not so good beer.

Perfect! These guys nailed it again! Very refreshing, and tasty.

Euro style lager eh? I suppose it’s reminiscent of carlsberg or Heineken. No adjuncts as far as I can tell. Standard malt base but nothing speciality. Head fizzles away quickly. Nice lager you don’t have to think about.

A little too malty to be the easy-drinking lager advertised, with a metallic aftertaste that keeps it from being what I’d call “clean.” It falls just shy of hitting the target as these beers go.

Decent lager. Not my favorite. But it’ll do as a cold beer on a hot afternoon.

If you like macro lagers, this here’s your jam. For me, it’s a definite, meh... pass.
