A Note on This Beer
I’m reading the Untappd comments about Jester King’s Lagered Farmhouse and one person says, “Has that distinct Jester King flavor. Easy drinking and tasty on a summer’s day.”
I read that, and was expecting a 4.50+ rating. But the rating they gave was a 3.25. I’m so confused!
Looks like everyone who isn’t into Lagers or Farmhouse Ales is giving today’s beer abysmal scores while everyone that likes those styles is rating it astronomically high. There isn’t any in-between!
It sounds like this Jester King original is a ‘love it’ or ‘don’t understand it’ brew, but I’m not suggesting you skip this beer if you’re on the fence about Lagers or if you’re still just dipping your toes into the world of Farmhouse Ales. Definitely try it! Personally, I think it’s absolutely delicious!
Lagered Farmhouse tastes like the rustic heirloom corn that went into it, grilled on the cob — juicy with hints of bittersweet char. There’s a satisfying funk to it too, a little footy, but in a good way — Farmhouse fans know what I mean — the rest of you will just have to trust me and taste it for yourself.
My point is, don't be led astray by low ratings from the Lager haters out there. Even if you're not a huge fan of the style, this is a beer that's gotta be tasted!
