A Note on This Beer
Chicago’s Une Année is renowned for their tart, complex sippers with a hyper focus on funky, barrel-aged brews. So much so that Forbes calls them one of the Best Breweries in Illinois.
And, with all the different Le Grand Monde releases we’ve scored over the years, those of you lucky enough to get your own bottles crowned them with an average 4.49 Tavour rating!
Considering UT fans are calling the key lime pie flavors in Le Grand Monde 2019-11 “unbelievably good,” we know all you funk fiends and Sour seekers will love this one just as much — if not more!
This complex sipper is a Barrel-Aged Blonde American Wild Ale that the brewers bolstered with a hefty dose of key limes and vanilla! Every effervescent gulp is packed with limey pucker and a graham-cracker smoothness from the barrels mingling with vanilla. It tastes like a big bite of key lime pie with tongue-tingling tartness to boot!
But Une Année only drops a new release of Le Grand Monde a few times a year, and no two batches are ever the same. So most Sour fans in the country never even get the chance to witness their beauty.
Except for a small few of you lucky Tavourians, of course!
