A Note on This Beer
Chicago’s Une Année is renowned for their tart, complex sippers with a hyper focus on funky, barrel-aged brews. So much so that Forbes calls them one of the Best Breweries in Illinois.
And, with all the different Le Grand Monde releases we’ve scored over the years, those of you lucky enough to get your own bottles crowned them with an average 4.49 Tavour rating!
Considering UT fans are calling today’s 4.25-rated Le Grand Monde 2019-9 “a taste of heaven,” we know all you funk fiends and Sour seekers will love this one just as much — if not more!
This complex sipper is a Barrel-Aged Blonde American Wild Ale that the brewers heightened with a juicy dose of Sauvignon Blanc wine grapes! Every effervescent gulp is packed with white wine-like depth amid tart waves of juicy pineapple and oaky spice. And, with a mild funk playing on the dry, wine-like finish, you’ll wanna dive in for sip after sip.
But, Une Année only drops a new release of Le Grand Monde a few times a year, and no two batches are ever the same. So, most Sour fans in the country never even get the chance to witness their beauty.
Except for a small few of you lucky Tavourians, of course!
