A Note on This Beer

Wilmington’s latest Milkshake IPA makes me want to do a backflip and start swingin’ through the trees with all its lush, real mango flavor. It’s no wonder they call it Lemur Party!

Every gulp gushes with huge, juicy bursts of mango succulence, accented with a double dry-hopped bite from Mosaic, Ekuanot, Citra, Amarillo, Cashmere and Idaho 7 Hops. Additions of lactose and oats create an opulent, velvety finish.

This brew toes the delicious line between a Hazy IPA and a lusciously thick mango lassi. Breakfast beer? Check. Spicy dish refresher? Check. Dessert? Why not?! It’s like a beer, a fruit-filled smoothie, and a luxurious milkshake all rolled into one mega-fun libation.

And, as if its bright, tropical flavor wasn’t quite enough, Wilmington also gave it a party-inducing 8.2% ABV!

I’m not the only one on this Milkshake IPA party train either. Craft fan @Justin E. calls Lemur Party “the milkshake style done right.” And @Brandon B. says simply, “just a perfect beer!”

I wouldn’t call this a milkshake IPA — this is a mild hop bomb that’s smooth and has some great mild burn from its hoppy goodness... loved it and will buy more ... mmmmmm mmmm

Smells of mango and orange juice and looks about the same Super juicy on the tongue with a creamy mouth feel. As the beer moves back it gets more bitter and pine resin. Makes me want to take another sip to get that juice back. Would be outstanding with a little less bitterness.

If the mango translated more into the flavor, this could be really good, otherwise it was a fairly balanced mildly juicy, then mildly bitter IPA. Decent but not really a milkshake IPA that I could discern.

Excellent IPA. I’m enjoying the addition of lactose to some beers. I’m sure like all things it will get overused. But in this IPA it smooths things out for a enjoyable sip.
