A Note on This Beer
Today’s Lil’ Miss Blackberry (Batch #02) has never been released to anyone outside of Dionysus Brewing’s exclusive Bottle Club.
So we were left with no choice but to head down to California ourselves to wrestle away a stash of our own. Despite some huffing and puffing, we managed to make it out with a mere 10 cases of Lil’ Miss Blackberry, along with Dionysus’ blessings to share the jammy juice with you!
They didn’t give it up easy, though — I mean, you can tell just by the Untappd comments that those Club members are enraptured by the Oak-aged Golden Sour Ale:
- “Holy. Shit. Balls. That’s awesome! Sour, but with complex layers of flavor.”
- “Yes folks, I just WoWzers’d in my trousers again — third time tonight!”
- “Holy delicious blackberry juice!!!”
Crafted with 2 lbs per gallon of Northern Oregon blackberries and aged in first-use Pinot Noir barrels for 10 months, this Lil’ Miss is deliciously tart with a delightfully sweet side. In fact, it tastes more like a blackberry muffin in a bottle than a 4.24 UT-rated Sour Ale!
Juicy sweetness mingles with a bretty funk on the nose, while an introductory sip leads the palate to a multi-layered blackberry pie. American Oak barrels provide the vanilla-sweet crust wrapped around the deep, jelly-like flavors of fresh blackberries. Then comes a dollop of lemon cheesecake mousse to top it all off.
With all this juicy berry flavor, Lil’ Miss Blackberry is exactly the kind of girl you want to bring home to your parents’ this holiday season.
In fact, snag a bottle of this incredibly limited-release Sour, and watch her blackberry allure and sweet sippability charm the pants off the fam. Then, when they hear how unbelievably difficult it is to find a California tart like her, they’re gonna start calling up everyone — friends, neighbors, distant relatives — just to brag about how successful you are!
But don’t let them get too cozy with your Lil’ Miss Blackberry. If you’re lucky enough to score a bottle before our tiny stash disappears, you may find it hard to resist keeping her all to yourself.
