About This Beer
Fonta Flora crafted this mixed-culture brew by conditioning a batch of 4-6 month barrel-aged Blonde Sour Ale on local cherries, blueberries, and two types of grapes. And since that produce first spent time flavoring a heavily fruited Sour, its second use in Local Snacks dishes up a gentler expression of the stone fruit, berries, merlot, and muscadine.
Tasting Notes
Native to the southeast, muscadine grapes are a real treat! Here, they contribute to the jammy dark fruit nuances bouncing around in the sour brew, as well as to its subtly earthy, tannic funk. Notes of oaky vanilla and fruit punch round it out. And because the brewers are masters at this game, each complex and effervescent sip invites you back for more.

it’s sour if you like that sort of thing, closer to a wine than a beer

Cherry is most forward fruit in aroma. Earthy funk & vinegar notes as well. Definitely taste grapes, for a red wine vibe. Tannic funkiness. Solid tartness.
