A Note on This Beer
Two beloved breweries, teaming up to create a deliciously fruity, hop-laced sipper for all of their fans to enjoy — I tell ya, it doesn’t get much better than that!
But in these wild times, brewers have to find new ways to work together. Which is exactly what the World Beer Cup champs at WeldWerks did!
See, before all of this craziness, they were planning to team up with their buddies at Kansas’ Central Standard to craft today’s endlessly luscious New England IPA.
They were all set to get together and stuff the 8.8% ABV sipper with heaps of Lotus, Strata, and HBC 692 Experimental Hops. Then, they were gonna tinker with the recipe until they struck the exact balance to impart leagues of passionfruit, pineapple, honeyed orange, and a touch of grassy bitterness on the finish.
Once all that hard work was done, the brewers could pull up a couple of chairs and clink glasses of this brand spankin’ new beer.
BUT NO.
Instead, like the rest of us, the folks at WeldWerks and Central Standard got together over the web and came up with the recipe for today’s Long Distance Distancing via video chat.
Thankfully, the GABF Gold Medalists at Central Standard still got to enjoy the hoppy fruit of their labor — WeldWerks sent a few cans to Kansas and the two brewers raised a virtual pint in celebration!
And today, you get to do the same.
In honor of strange times, social distancing, and virtual Happy Hours, snag a few cans of today’s hazy sipper and raise a glass to responsibly crafted beer collabs.
This beer is too new for ratings!
