A Note on This Beer
Boneyard and Cloudburst are two of my absolute favorite Pacific Northwest breweries; these two crews make some of the finest hoppy beers in the region. Back in the before times — when I could still hang out at all my favorite craft beer joints like the bar-goyle that I am — seeing either of their tap handles meant I was ready to order.
So, you can imagine my delight when I managed to snag a stash of today’s Loose Ends India Pale Lager. This collab is as Northwest as it gets!
Up here in the upper left corner of the country, we’re all about HOPS, and Boneyard and Cloudburst cranked this Lager up with PNW-grown Citra, Sultana, and Nelson Sauvin Hops. Every drop rains down flavors of tangy tangerine, dank melon, and tropical mango.
In short, it’s all the flavors you’d expect to find in a dynamite IPA, but wrapped in a crisp, clean, crushable Lager body with notes of bread crust and honey.
If you want a true taste of locals-only northwest craft, just grab a can or two of Loose Ends — it might be a long time before this stuff leaves the region again.
Boneyard is one of Eater’s 12 Killer Breweries in Bend, Oregon, and Cloudburst is one of Thrillist’s 15 Best Seattle Breweries.
