About This Beer
To make it, the brewers started by putting a blend of Maris Otter and Munch malts through a 24 hour long boil — which is already impressive. A standard boil only takes about 60 minutes. Then they aged the brew in a 50/50 combo of Heaven Hill bourbon and Laird’s Apple Brandy barrels for a full year!
Tasting Notes
That extra long hot-side caramelized the malts for bold flavors of toffee, honey, and toasted bread. The extended slumber on oak added notes of apple compote, top shelf whiskey, and just a whisper of barrel char. And it’s so smooth, you’ll barely even notice the whopping 15% ABV.
