About This Beer
Crux brewed this year’s vintage of the barrel aged Imperial Stout with an “obsessive amount” of malted rye. Then they matured it for 10 months in rye barrels, where the oak and whiskey worked their invisible magic on it.
Tasting Notes
You CAN go your own way, but it’d be crazy to miss out on this velvety Stout. Rolling in the deep, chocolatey body you’ll find notes of roasty dark malt and espresso. Silky vanilla caramel drifts through each balanced sip, growing stronger as it warms. And each taste concludes with a lingering taste of sweet rye spice.

This was tasty, but overall the bitterness was a little too steep for me. It felt a bit unbalanced overall. Oh, and there’s way too much wax on this bottle. Opening it was a nightmare.
