A Note on This Beer
To fully understand today’s Love of Fate, you’ll need to know a few terms.
Bière de Coupage: Literally translating to “beer that’s cut,” Bière de Coupage is a blend of aged Ales and younger brews. For today’s beer, the brewers took their Aged Wild Ale and added a newer Oak-aged Saison.
The result is bright and sippable with a touch of grassy funk like a Saison, but with a fuller body and subtle notes of lemongrass. There’s a dash of tropical fruitiness, and just a whisper of bitterness that keeps the finish nice and dry.
Standard: Look in a dictionary, and it’ll say something about ‘level of quality,’ but here in Seattle, it really means ‘best kept secret!’ Standard Brewing is one of Eater’s 12 Essential Seattle Breweries, but their beers almost never leave the city — so they’re still a locals-only favorite.
FOMO: It stands for Fear Of Missing Out. And, with less than 500 bottles for all of Tavour, I’d bet some of you Wild and Sour fans are feeling a little FOMO right now!
There’s only one way to combat that feeling — by snagging a bottle of Love of Fate before this limited release vanishes forever!
Standard won Gold medals for American Wild Ale AND Brett Beers at last year’s Washington Beer Awards!
