One of our writers (a former New Yorker) wanted to personally tell you about today’s hop candy because it holds a special place in his beery heart. 

“Grimm Tesseract is my favorite IPA of all time. So, I’m super stoked about today’s collab with Interboro. Hop Culture named Interboro one of the 5 Best Breweries in New York City. Together, these two juicebomb powerhouses remixed Tesseract with Interboro’s taproom favorite Mad Fat IPA — the brew that helped put them on the craft map! 

The first time I tried the original, I paid over three times as much as I’d ever paid for an IPA. That’s because I didn’t get it from Grimm’s brewery. I got it from a friend, who got it from another friend, who got it from a guy that waited in a long line outside a bottleshop.” 

The brewery didn’t have a taproom at the time, and the few NYC shops that could get their IPAs were selling out within hours. 

I didn’t know what to expect. All I knew was that Tesseract was the favorite beer of my biggest beer geek buddy — and, he described it as ‘pure hop candy.’

I didn’t know what that meant until I tried it. It felt like my taste buds were smiling as flavors of dank orange kush, grapefruit bubble gum, and tangy pineapple flowed over them. 

So, when Grimm and Interboro teamed up, I knew their Mad Fat Tesseract remix would be good. But, let me tell ya, if you want to know what I mean when I call it ‘pure hop candy’ — you’ll have to grab a taste for yourself!”
