A Note on This Beer
Normally, getting a beer from Side Project is exciting enough. They’re one of the Top 10 Breweries on Earth on Untappd, and their small-batch brews are incredibly hard to track down.
But today’s Maple in the Wood is even more exciting because it’s also a collab with a brand-new brewery you’ve probably never even heard of!
Private Press Brewing is the brainchild of Brad Clark, the brewer who created Jackie O’s incredible lineup of 4+ rated Imperial Stouts! What’s more, this is probably one of the only chances you’ll have to sample anything from this new California brewery, because from here on out, Brad’s beers will be available only by subscription.
Of course, today you can sample their Maple Infused, Barrel-Aged Wheatwine without joining the club. It’s the very first release from Private Press, and it’s already rated an astounding 4.47 on UT!
To create it, Private Press and Side Project added real Vermont Maple Syrup to the brew, then aged it in a combination of Maple Bourbon Barrels and E.H. Taylor Bourbon Barrels for 18 months.
Finally, they blended it into delectable waves of whiskey-caramel deliciousness.
The bad news? We only have 130 bottles! Get it while you can.
