About This Beer
When the award-winning team at Revolution announced this syrup-drenched version of their fan-favorite English Barleywine, Straight Jacket, we knew it was going to be something special! They loaded the brew into maple syrup bourbon barrels from their friends over at Chicago Maple and let it rest for a year. Then, just before canning, they sweetened it with straight-up syrup!
Tasting Notes
Every mouthful blooms with sweet, woodsy maple as it warms. Notes of boozy caramel ripple with toffee, date, and golden raisin nuances before finishing with a touch of oaky vanilla.

This is delicious. Boozy and very strong
maple flavor. But
not syrup-y at all.

Took this beer to a chocolate and beer pairing party. The sweet strawberry notes worked well with Belgium chocolate. Don’t think I would like this if it hadn’t been paired.

1000% not the beverage for me. it was very sweet and difficult to drink. I’m glad I tried it…

it’s maple. of course it is sweet. i probably slightly prefer strawberry jacket to this but it’s such a great beer.

good beer… lots of maple

This was an interesting take on a barley wine. Maple totally drowns out the malt and the barrel contribution is also muddled. This had potential but is over back sweetened by about 50%

It’s sweet, like everyone else is saying. shouldn’t be surprising, considering it literally has elements of syrup in it. Still tasty.

maple really comes through - almost cloyingly sweet. hides the abv really well. drinks smooth

Sweet with flavors of toffee, raisins, maple, oak and bourbon. It’s a tad thin for my liking, but the flavors make up for that.

Not as thick as some barrel-aged Barleywines, but no less flavorful.

a bit to sweet, it's almost too much

Unbelievably sweet but keep drinking. You either taste the toffee/maple notes or your drunk enough to pretend you do. Either way, you’re happy.
