About This Beer
Unless you're studying abroad at Oxford or darting through the busy streets of London, there’s not a lot of authentic English Brown Ales around. Fortunately, the team at True Respite has got us anglophiles covered! They took their award-winning Scrum & Hooker and conditioned it on maple extract and hand cut Madagascar vanilla beans to add some sweetness and make it even more scrummy!
Tasting Notes
Every nutty sip envelops the taste buds with notes of toasty malts. The maple and vanilla additions come through on the backend, bringing a subtle kiss of French toast.

I was hoping for a bit more maple and vanilla which is almost non existent. The maltyness is there for a brown and a nice nuttiness that is signature for a brown. You can smell the vanilla with a bit of a swirl and hops is pretty light. An okay brown...

Really nice brown ale. Maple and vanilla are well portioned.

Not the most maple or vanilla but a great brew nonetheless!

Not much maple or vanilla, and a lot of nuttiness. I appreciate a full, nutty ale, but this one is shallow with a metallic aftertaste.
