A Note on This Beer

Grab a 10-gallon hat and the nearest set of bagpipes — it’s time to get a little Irish in you, Texas-style!

The micro-batch craft masters at Pondaseta brought the Emerald Isle to the Texas Panhandle with today’s Martin & Martin. For craft fans who can’t get enough of the Black Stuff, this Texas take on a classic Irish-Style Dry Stout is somethin’ fierce.

Brewed exclusively with continental malts, Martin & Martin drinks velvety-smooth with profuse notes of light roast coffee and bittersweet, dark chocolate. Nuances of oak and spiced cocoa bang on in the background like kindly faeries of the woods, teasing tasters into drinking long past just the one round. Which is but a wee problem to have, since it comes with a crushable 4.3% ABV!

Seriously, this brew is impressing the shamrocks off of locals like @Adrian C. in North Texas. He puts it into words, saying “This comes closest to my perfect beer. Nice strong flavor but still tastes crisp. I love Stouts and this may be the perfect one.”

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if you rock wrangler jeans or a breezy kilt — Martin & Martin is the Texas Irish Stout to try. Especially since the only way to taste this ode to the Old Country is a trip to Amarillo, or by snagging a slew of cans here on Tavour!

Sláinte, pardner!

With Tavour, it's easy to beer it forward! Just head over to Tavour.com/gifts to send a gift box or gift card to the craft beer lover in your life. Cheers!

Very hoppy for a stout but it had a nice flavor and feel. It was okay. I thought it was nice but nothing too over the top or something that blew my mind.

A solid take on an Irish stout. In a world where every stout is a chocolate milkshake or an espresso martini, this is a refreshing return to the good old days of dark beer. I’d love to try a nitro version of this

Just a super solid Irish stout. Toasty goodness but still easy drinking.

It’s an ok stout dry slightly coffee and a bit of a Smokey flavor but thin and almost watery which brings the score down

It was alright. I love my Irish style stout but this one just missed the mark for me. I gave it the rating I did because it tastes like a dry stout but that’s about it. I do however, appreciate the effort to bring something new to the market.
