About This Beer
The Alaskan legends crafted this brew in collaboration with Mareko Maumasi of Maumasi Fire Arts. The duo started with a deep, rich base which they aged for 8 Months in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels. Then they transferred the brew to freshly emptied Woodford Reserve Double Oaked bourbon barrels for 6 months before moving it to freshly emptied Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels for an additional 4 months.
Last, they finished this showstopper on toasted coconut and coffee from Olympia Coffee Company in Olympia, Washington, where Mareko lives.
Tasting Notes
It’s like a decadent coconut mocha with gorgeous accents of vanilla oak, bourbon caramel, and chewy date. All that richness hides a bold 16% ABV.

Triple oaked for the win! Pure velvet with a roasty, intensely warming finish. The vanillin oak is abundantly apparent as it mingles with bourbon forward coconut and a touch of sweetness. What can I say about the coffee addition other than, Outstanding!

Aromas of coffee beans and coconut. Sweetness with a syrupy feel, faint sourness, astringency derived from barrels, and woodiness are dominant. There is a sweet grainy feeling of bourbon on the nose, and it is slightly fruity. It's a little alcoholic and the solid sweetness is a little strong, but considering the strength of each element, it's a wonderful balance.

I’ve had two or three 5 star beers in my life (I drink a lot of beer) and THIS is a 5 star beer. Enough said.

interesting, the coffee reminded me of weird (good) bitter chocolate

One of the smokiest, peat-iest beers I’ve ever had, and that’s a very good thing. Massive oak flavor like a campfire. Sadly there’s a cloying sweetness that’s at war with it and that kinda brought
it down for me… especially for such a steep price.

Huge espresso martini vibes. Coffee for days and not-so-subtle coconut. Treads a fine line between decent body and too thick. Flavoursome but excessively sweet
