About This Beer
Fremont took select vintages of The Rusty Nail BA Imperial Oatmeal Stout, AKA the #1 Oatmeal Stout in the world according to BeerAdvocate, and married it with a rich Porter specifically designed for this blend. The combination of 2-Row Pale, Vienna, Midnight Wheat, flaked oats, roast barley, and smoked malts creates a stunningly roasty backbone for the additions of cassia cinnamon chips and brewer’s licorice to shine over.
Tasting Notes
Look forward to notes of chocolate-covered dates colliding with drizzles of caramel, cinnamon, and star anise. A whisper of smoke should linger on the finish, melding magically with hints of vanilla oak and top-shelf bourbon.

This was a big surprise. Lots of holiday spice flavors mixed with some reliably great stout and ale bases. It tasted like a holiday brew, which is high praise from my seat.

this is a beauty of a stout/porter. lots of cinnamon flavor which I could do without, but still a tasty sipping beer.

Not a poor man’s Rusty Nail, but pleasant. Spiced chocolate up front, with a mild dryness on the finish. Not what I expected at all.

Aromas of cinnamon, star anise, and a little vanilla. Moderate carbonation, thicker mouthfeel as it warms. Taste follows the nose, with some chocolate and bourbon.

Great combination of Rusty Nail and Porter. Licorice and cinnamon show through and are welcome.

A ton of anise in aroma w/notes of bourbon, chocolate, & cinnamon in background. Taste follows aroma w/cinnamon taking over
star role. Fun cuvée!
