About This Beer
Hoppin’ Frog invented the Belgian-style “Pentuple” back in 2018. Just a year later, it earned the brewery their 6th GABF medal! Their so-called “super charged Tripel” has become a fun, fan-favorite annual series with a whole family of barrel aged varieties. In this particular variant, they stowed it away in Oaxaca-sourced Mezcal barrels, adding complex character and a supercharged boozy body.
Tasting Notes
Strong aromas of clove and cinnamon on the nose give way to smoked Bordeaux cherry on the palate. Heavy notes of leather and charred oak swirl with a rich, malty body. Hints of clove and honey finish the sip.

Huge booze and Belgian spice in the nose. Spices, lots of booze, slightly vegetal. Lots of oak and vanilla towards the end.

smooth and buttery. rich in caramel and toffee notes, but with added complexity from its time with the mezcal barrels. surprisingly smooth for the abv. no bite or burn. wish I’d bought more!

Was expecting at least a 12oz pour like through the picture. It tasted like a gos barrel aged quadruple, was expecting more with the knowledge that Mazcal barrels were used for aging. In the end could not taste or tell that Mazcal barrels were used. That be said it was a good barrel aged quad!

amazing and smooth for a pentuple. fantastic flavor

Very nice mix of spice and sweetness. Heavier beer but comes in a small can. A great after dinner beer because it is on the sweeter side, which helps mask the high alcohol content.

Fruit and spice, extremely strong flavor, not my favorite but well made, good
quality.

Very strong, but good contrast to the port wine. Can definitely taste the mezcal over the hops

my boyfriend and I could barely finish this tiny can, it was not our favorite. strong flavor, high alcohol content so makes sense

Very strong, definitely has notes of the Mezcal. Almost creamy, not bad for the ABV
