About This Beer
The acclaimed cask masters at Fremont are never satisfied to rest on their laurels! That spirit of invention led them to create Mezclar — born by mingling together a brand new Porter with select vintages of their celebrated Bourbon Barrel-Aged Dark Star Stout.
That marriage means that the cuvée includes a whopping TEN different specialty malts rounded out by five varieties of hops, giving it lots of layers to explore.
Tasting Notes
Complex chocolate croissant and crème brûlée aromas invite you to taste the roasty, medium-bodied brew. Each mouthful flows with bourbon toffee and oaky vanilla, accented by fudgy mocha notes. Lingering barrel tones shimmer with nuances of allspice and cinnamon in the warming finish.

a little this and not a lot of depth. not on par with other Freemont BA beers.

This blend comes across porter heavy with some subtle BADS flavors in the background. IMO, flavors are muted, almost watered down. Wanted more as a Fremont fan.

I found another style I really like; Cuvée. Thick creamy head, burned motor oil color, complex aroma with brown sugar, chocolate, woody notes, sweet and bitter tastes with hints of whiskey, dried fruit, and winter spice, medium body and silky mouthfeel, and a warming alcohol finish.

This was delicious. Rich flavor and a surpassingly balanced taste for a cuvée.

Very dry, mostly the characteristics of a dry imperial porter. Not much barrel, but I do like that the base beer shines, and not the syrupy mess that lots of
breweries adr foundg with their barrel aged beers.

It's not bad, a tad thin but roasty and malty AF.

Not nearly as powerful or flavorful as a typical offering from Fremont, but still refreshing

Lots of malts in this blend. Slight chocolate notes and a touch of bitterness from the porter.
