A Note on This Beer
My buddy describes today’s Imperial Stout perfectly. He says, “it’s like an Italian affogato that’s spiked with boozy-Kahlua!”
If you don’t know what affogato is, picture a massive scoop of dark chocolate ice cream with chunks of cacao nibs, then a freshly-pulled shot of espresso slowly poured over the top.
Yeah, it’s THAT good.
Now imagine that decadent delight topped with a belly-warming 12% ABV!
That, my friends, is what you’ll taste in Mocha Pot de Creme.
This dizzyingly delicious Stout hails from the alter-ego of Chicago’s revered Une Annee Brewery: Hubbard’s Cave. These mysterious masters possess Dark Beer expertise, which earns ‘em a higher UT brewery rating than the notorious craft giants at 3 Floyds, Founders, and Evil Twin!
Now, if you’re ready to score this small-batch brew, your options are: A) drive to Illinois and scour the local bottleshops in hopes there are a few left, or B) skip the travel and load-up right here.
In fact, it’s probably a good idea to grab a few extras. Once this chocolate-drenched melody of booze hits your lips, there’s no substitute for its decadence. You’re absolutely gonna need back-ups for when your cravings return. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
