About This Beer
Anchorage has earned so much acclaim for their dark beers and hoppy brews, you might not know: their sensational Wild Ales are what first garnered them attention!
But one sip of Monovision, and it’s easy to taste why.
To craft it, the renowned Alaskan brewery started by fermenting and aging an Ale in Missouri oak foeders. Then, they finished the brew on thousands of pounds of hand-picked Alaskan blueberries and a touch of Ugandan vanilla beans.
Tasting Notes
Vibrant blueberries perfume the air with each purple pour. Currents of drippy berries swirled with lemon tang surge through each sip. Whispers of vanilla oak rise on the end before a snappy finish.

Much less sour than I’d hoped, but, very
well done. The aroma and oak are quite nice, color is insane

I think this brew tips them to be my favorite brewery. I have been in search of a good blueberry beer and only one before was any good. most are syrupy to the point of being unsinkable. the one before this was also a sour but not much blueberry carried over. Monovision though has a balance of sour with letting the blueberry tart shine through. the oak finish on the tail and
complimentscompliments they tart forward blueberry. just excellent.

liked the sweetness and bitterness of the beer its a good balance 👌

Kind of like wild berry flavored bubblegum,
The kind that paints the insides of your cheeks and tongue blueish purple.
Not so sour, a little tart around the edges, but full on sends the back of the throat fruity lacquer feeling.
Would be good with mildly funky Brie, on a hearty corrugated whole grain cracker form Trader Joe's,
Or perhaps baked into a gooey, chewy cheese puff.
The smell is really tough to pinpoint, but it puts me in mind of an artichoke stained with beet juice...

love that the vanilla tweaks the sour! and the after taste and mouth feel is altered. I love sour and I also love this variation!

Amazing. So much blueberry. Beatiful color. Not alot of vanilla though, otherwise wouldve been a 5

Plenty sour with a trailing note of vanilla. Vinous aroma with a stable lace from the pour.

Polarizing reviews… I would echo that the Color is crazy, head is fleeting, not a very sour sour, tart tart tart, I don’t pickup on Vanilla but this is very balanced. Fragrance may be one disconnect (it’s an off putting funk). Glad I had. Would again.

H
onestly it tastes too much like wine. Tart and thin

Decadent, thick blueberry color and aroma. Had some interesting drying notes - maybe a bit of bitterness. The vanilla flavor was quite nice- seems like a hard note for beers to get right and they nailed it. Not really sour though.

EXQUISITE beer: it was tart, full bodied, had a balanced mouthfeel, pure berry flavor and a divine finish. I absolutely loved this beer and wished we had more

This is perfection in a beer. You can really taste the blueberries and has great body. Totally enjoyable beer.

The pour gives you a fizzy head that disappears very quickly. First taste hits you with great blueberry flavor but the beer is shockingly light.

Definitely a sour! The blueberry is prominent but did not find the vanilla.

A fantastic sour! Nicely sour on the front end but the flavor mellows and the vanilla tones really come out. yum!

Blueberry pie, tart and vibrant color.

I must have gotten a bad bottle cause it was straight sour mess.

not really much vanilla to match the overwhelming blueberry and tartness.

My first sour from Anchorage. Initial impression was “meh”. But as I drank it I started to appreciate the toned down aspect of this brew and how it incorporates the vanilla. Very interesting (closer to 3.9)

a TRUE Sour! not for the faint of heart. strong blueberry flavor. I sense the vanilla more than I taste it. if you are a fan of sours, this one is for you

Not Great

Super sweet, almost to the point of a warhead candy. It has a slight vanilla flavor on the finish, but you’re mostly getting sweet, followed by tart, followed by sweet. Good, but it’s a lot.

Sour but tasty
