A Note on This Beer
Side Project collaboration with Bruery Terreux!
Today’s new release is what happens when Side Project, the #4 Brewery in the World on Untappd — rated even higher than Cantillon and Tree House — meets up with one of the most awarded breweries in California. And then invades a vineyard!
Mousseux Alban Saison with California Viognier Grapes came to fruition after the two cherished Sour breweries bonded over a shared love of wine and, more specifically, Viognier white wine.
That vino affection inspired them to brew this barrel-fermented “Missouri Saison.” They refermented it in a Missouri Oak Foedre on California Viognier Grapes — hand-selected by Bruery Terreux’s headbrewer, Jeremy Grinkey — before bottle conditioning.
It tastes like the dry, fruity wine grapes are serenading delicately tart farmhouse grains while swinging from a stone fruit hammock, nestled between two oak trees outside the barn.
Side Project has 7 of their brews on BeerBlackbook’s Top 100 Most Expensive Traded Beers list alongside other Wild Ale masters, like 3 Fonteinen. The rustic complexity of this Wine Barrel-Aged Saison could very well become the pièce de résistance of your collection. And with the brewery’s extremely limited batches, we snagged the only 132 bottles available.
This could be your only chance at one!
