About This Beer
You’ve never had a Stout Wine like this! That’s because it’s a new style invented by the brewers at New Image and Phase Three!
Rather than simply blending a Stout and Barleywine, the duo crafted a hybrid of the styles using key ingredients of both. They started with a custom blended malt bill –– crystal munich, crystal wheat, and a blend crystal and chocolate malt they’ve affectionately named “crystal 300.” Then they barrel finished the brew, deepening its brown sugar and cocoa notes.
Tasting Notes
Every chewy quaff cascades with velvety mocha, golden caramel, rich toffee, and chocolate covered raisins. Dried fruit and dark chocolate carry on the finish, all hiding a 13.24% ABV!

Thick, chocolate, coffee, nothing to overpowering. Amazing!

Bought this because I didn't know what a "stout wine" was, and because Phase Three and New Image are awesome. I guess it's a stout and a barleywine. This one is like a chocolate dessert

literally forgot I ordered this because it said Stout Wine… wine is my first love so, there’s that. but I took one drink and thought…. wine??!! tastes “maple-y” at first, very smooth, a little thick but then tastes chocolatey and a wine type finish. all I can say is … I am in love! stouts are my second love… this is like, if they had a baby 💜

Great melody of barley wine and stout flavors: chocolate covered raisins, figs, and dark cherries with a boozy finish. Slow supper and absolutely decadent

the semi sweetness and barrel qualities go well together.

I got a chocolate feel, less maple than expected. hides the abv fairly well. I did get a little of the dried fruit but felt a little muddled.

Sugar maple notes blend well with the stout base. Good brown sugar and dark fruit notes.

All of the best qualities of a robust barleywine and a barrel aged imperial stout, with none of the shortcomings. Brûléed sugar and rich toasted malt, decadent and chewy dark chocolate ganache, and the oaky vanillas and tannins of bourbon.
