A Note on This Beer
We all know the island jingle about putting the lime in the coconut; it’s an instant picture of white sandy beaches, blue waters, and swaying coconut palms.
Today, Milwaukee’s MobCraft Beer is singing to a new tune that’s all about putting RUM in the Coconut! Or, rather, putting the coconut in the Rum Barrels with Nigel’s Coconut Delight!
They craft this Milk Stout with 5.5 lbs of coconut, 5.5 lbs of molasses, and a helping of real vanilla beans in every barrel of beer. Then, they age the easy-breezy brew for 11 months in Jamaican blackstrap molasses Rum Barrels for ooey-gooey sweetness and warm, woody spice.
It tastes like sitting back on the beach with a slice of moist Rum Cake in one hand, and a creamy coconut cocktail in the other as warm breezes rustle the palm trees overhead. In other words, it tastes like sheer Dark Beer bliss.
But MobCraft only put out a mere 105 cases of Nigel’s Coconut Delight, and Tavour got the only stash anywhere outside the Midwest. And MobCraft doesn’t do repeat brews!
So it doesn’t matter if you live in a warm, tropical paradise, or if you’re still bracing against the bitter winter. Now’s your only chance to sway to this new tune all about rum and coconuts.
This beer is too new for ratings!
*This beer is made with real coconut, so don’t freak out when you see little bits floating on top!
