About This Beer
It’s not every day you come across a Wild Ale as dark as a Stout. It brings a balance of Brett tartness and barrel character that will stop any beer connoisseur in their tracks! The crafty Crooked Stave team first aged this bad boy in oak foeders with their mixed culture of wild yeast and bacteria for that characteristic tang. Then, they transferred it to bourbon and whiskey barrels from Leopold Bros, where it slumbered for months.
Tasting Notes
Nightmare on Brett soaked up boozy bourbon and whiskey barrel characteristics, creating dark fruit aromas over cacao notes and an acidic, tart berry finish!

I have to drink this with my eyes closed, because the color and flavor do not make sense in my brain. It is tasty, however.

I’m sure it’s a great Sour - but I learned (on a $20 bottle of beer) that I am NOT into sours. Haha

I've had cheap wines that tasted better. Really disappointed in this one.

Did not realize it was a Sour. I enjoyed it but my husband was not impressed.

It might be a great wild ale to those who like wild ale. However, I have learned that I don't like wild ale.

The whisky doesn’t come through much but adds nice subtle nuances to this fantastic dark sour.
