A Note on This Beer
The widely accepted definition of a West Coast IPA: A refreshing, hop-forward India Pale Ale full of piney, citrusy notes, and a prominent lingering finish.
Our definition of a West Coast IPA: El Segundo and RiiP Brewing’s No Comply IPA.
There’s nothing more West Coast than when two award-winning, beach-side California breweries team up for a 6.8% ABV hopbomb guaranteed to quell even the most intense thirsts. Riip resides in Sunset Beach, and El Segundo is on the coast just outside of L.A. Both squads are surfer dudes that love the flavors of dank citrus and tropical fruit after a long day of catching waves.
The Los Angeles heat has taught these master crafters a thing or two about creating flavor-packed refreshment. And they fill each bottle to the gills with pillowy, Cali Kush-like sticky-icky dankness.
Sipping on No Comply is so soft and dank you’ll expect to get cotton-mouth, and then BOOM! It instantly quenches even the most extreme thirst. A regular at El Segundo’s taproom told us about a guy that was stranded on a deserted beach for 6 days without water. The first thing he drank when he was rescued was a bottle of No Comply. And he recovered instantly.
Okay we made that up, but today’s tidal wave of refreshment is so clutch, its nuances of citrus and evergreen satiate the palate with a thirst-quenching resin worthy of any parched palate.
Honestly, when the weather starts to warm up in your neck-of-the-woods, it’s time to push those super sweet juicebombs aside and reach for something that’ll really hit the spot on a sunny day.
