About This Beer
The brewers paired up with their friends at Home Place Beer in nearby Burnsville. Together, they crafted a mashbill with locally sourced barley and specialty grains for a jet-black brew. Then they steeped the beer on white oak harvested right from their very own Whippoorwill Farm property!
Tasting Notes
The brew flows with flavors of roasted hazelnuts, espresso, baker’s chocolate, and fruit leather. The oak adds distinctive notes of smooth vanilla and soft, woody tannins.

It was a one upon opening, it had the aroma of an Old Milwaukee. After warming up it had a pleasant taste and smell. 1 to start, 4 to finish.

Excellent shwarzbier that focuses more on caramel and molasses than roast. Chewy, Little bit of roastiness with the vanilla and oak on the finish. Earthy throughout. Another great fonta flora brew

Aroma is toasted grain, coffee, barley. Flavor is the same with addition of mild oak, molasses, and earthy hints. Really great depth of flavor for the style. This is the best beer I’ve had from this brewery! Nice

Creamy head, smoky aroma, stout-like appearance, dark roasted coffee and malt tastes with a hint of vanilla, crisp and crushable, medium-bodied, with a dry finish.

Oak & roasted malt in aroma. Taste is fantastic … More oak & roasted malt w/chocolate & a light smokiness mixed in. This Schwarzbier is so damn good!
