A Note on This Beer
Is there anything better than a warm, breezy spring day? YES! A sunny day paired with a delicious brew!
Spring drinking seems to call for something soft yet rich, subtle but complex, and smooth to the last drop — basically, the newest Farmhouse Ale from Fair Isle Brewing, Odelette.
One of Fair Isle's Ales made Hop Culture magazine's 20 Best Beers to Drink in Spring of 2021. I wouldn’t be surprised if Odelette made their next warm weather list!
The brewers lagered this Ale in an oak foeder for 8 weeks, imparting notes of sweet vanilla and toasty marshmallow that compliment the delicate apricot tinges from the wild yeasts and supple malt flavor.
The result is a Bière de Garde, a name that translates to “beer for keeping.” As in, “I should be keeping this beer a secret so I can have it all to myself this season.” But, a brew this intricately crafted needs to be shared.
It’s a bottle made to split with a couple friends under the afternoon sun, comparing flavor notes and savoring each springtime sip.
