A Note on This Beer

With over 2,000 lbs of mangoes in the batch, along with an absurd 6 lbs per barrel of Motueka and Citra Hops, it’s clear that today’s Opaque Thoughts: Mango Lassi doesn’t skimp on the tropical fruit flavor.

To top it all off, the crew at Mountains Walking conditioned the brew on piles of Tahitian vanilla beans and a sprinkle of freshly ground cardamom.

Every sip is like diving into a thick, rich, mango milkshake! It even has the same creamy finish, thanks to plenty of oats in the mash and a ribbon of silky lactose.

If you’re looking for a tropical treat to sip as you while away a sunny spring afternoon, you could head to your local milkshake joint. But, they probably don’t make anything that comes with an 8% ABV.

I don't know if the Citra hops were the best pairing for this beer. The lemony zap tarts up the mango puree. Maybe a strata or galaxy would of meshed better? Still delicious but not blown away.

I’m not a huge fan of ipa’s but this was probably the best one I’ve tried. The mango helped tone down the hoppy flavor which is a plus in my book.

Surprisingly, not overtly sweet. The mango hits immediately with a subtle bitter finish. Would definitely purchase again, eyes are peeled for another drop

Definitely thick, not very carbonated at all, decent Mango flavor but I was expecting more. Little too hoppy for my liking but I'm glad I tried it!

Strong mango aromas with a touch of hoppiness. Good thickness. Strong mango flavors, but a touch on the green or underripe side. Perhaps the hops affected that aspect; not sure. Not getting too much of the green cardamom and only slight amounts of vanilla. The end is a very nice, luscious milky finish. Definitely a tasty milkshake IPA.
